Welcome to a new school year! Things have started off well here in 3rd grade. I have really enjoyed getting to know your children over the past couple of days! Such bright and enthusiastic learners! In this newsletter I hope to include some important upcoming dates as well as some important reminders for success this year in 3rd grade.
Important Dates
-Thursday, September 17th: Picture Day
-Thursday, September 17th: Curriculum Night 6:25-7:35
-Friday, September 25th: Glencairn Fun Run Kick-Off Assembly
-Monday, October 12th-Friday, October 16th: Big Zoo Lesson (More info to come on Curriculum Night!)
Important Reminders
1) Please remember to send your child to school with their own snack every day. The snacks that were sent in by you at the beginning of the year cover the students who forget a snack from time to time, not every day.
2) I will primarily try to send home important notes from school every Friday, however, please understand that the beginning of the school year is a busy time and it is important that information be delivered to families right away. It is important to have close communication between school, families, students, and teachers. I am asking that you please check your child's folder every night for important notes. The notes may be taken out of your child's folder and sent back to school if necessary. The homework folder should be returned to and from school everyday please!
3) Please be sure to return to school your child's enrollment information card, how your child gets to and from school form, and the signed classroom expectations letter as soon as possible. If you have lost the classroom expectations letter, you can find it on this website under Classroom Documents and Resources. This note specifically mentions my classroom procedures and expectations. Please go over it carefully with your child, sign it, and return it to school by this Friday, September 11th.
Please let me know if you have any questions! I look forward to a great year with you and your child!
