The Big Zoo Lesson
November 4th-8th, 2013
RED CEDAR SCIENCE FIELD EXPERIENCE
This is not your typical field trip! The students will be Scientists, learning much about Organisms and their Structural and Behavioral Characteristics. The FIVE DAY Field Experience provides students with hands-on, up-close activities to get to know their one chosen animal as well as many other animals at the zoo.
We have been discussing HUMAN BEHAVIORS at the zoo and your child should be able to tell you the field trip expectations for their success at the zoo.
Red Cedar Students are expected to be:
1. Respectful--to the zoo property, the animals, and to other visitors.
2. Responsible--using their time wisely and completing their assignments.
3. Safe--remaining in the area they are assigned, taking a buddy and asking an adult before using the restroom, and staying away from the animal enclosures.
Students will be signing their permission slip, noting that they understand these expectations. Parents, you will also be providing a telephone number where you can be reached in the event of an emergency. Thanks for your help in supporting your child's learning!
