M-STEP Information
Today a note regarding M-STEP will be sent home in your child's folder. Please be sure to go over this note and read the note with your child. It is important that your child know that the M-STEP test is not something that determines their "grade" in school. There is no need to worry or stress about the tests. The teachers also make sure to give plenty of extra recesses and brain breaks during these testing weeks to help support the students more.
It is VERY important that your child get enough sleep during these weeks. It is also important that they eat a healthy, hearty breakfast. Your child is welcome to bring a water bottle to school to stay hydrated during the day. Mints, gum, and snacks will also be provided on these days. The M-STEP tests are not timed and your child will have as much time as they need to complete the tests.
Tired Kids!
Over the past week or so we have noticed an increase in students who seem extremely tired and negative behaviors including more arguments with peers and a struggle focusing in class. We know with the days getting longer and the weather getting nicer it may be tempting to stay up later, however, it is very important for young children to get enough sleep. Sleep can help with stress, thinking, and overall happiness. Please help us set your child up for happiness and success at school by trying to make sure your child is getting enough sleep!
May Birthdays and End of M-STEP Celebration
We will be celebrating the end of M-STEP and our May birthdays (Caroline and Afaaf!) on Friday, May 26th from 2:45-3:30. The students will be enjoying popcorn and juice while watching the movie of the novel we just finished in class, Pippi Longstocking (Rated G). There will also be some time for extra recess, weather permitting! Please click on the link below to sign up to send in items for the party!
