Dear Parents and Families,
I enjoyed meeting all of you for parent teacher conferences! Thank you for making the time to come in and hear about your child's learning this year. I cannot tell you this enough, but I LOVE your children! They amaze me every day with their knowledge, their passion and enthusiasm for learning, and for their positivity and energy. They make teaching fun! :)
This e-mail is also to give you the schedule for the Halloween/October Birthday party that will take place this Friday, October 31st. The schedule is below:
1:15-1:35: Performance by the East Lansing High School Marching Band
2:00: The students will have recess early. If you are willing to come help set up for the Halloween/birthday party, it would be helpful to have you arrive at 2:00!
2:20: The students come in from recess and will begin to change into their Halloween Costumes. Please read the below guidelines regarding costumes:
-Students should bring their costumes in a bag to school and keep them in their lockers until 2:20.
-Please do not bring any pretend weapons, fake blood or any masks that are disturbing or exceptionally frightening for elementary aged children.
-Please try as best as you can to arrange the costume to be able to fit OVER your child's clothes for school. Due to limited bathrooms in the school there is not much time or space for the children to do a full change, so I would encourage children to be able to pull costumes on over their clothes!
-If your child needs help with their costume, please arrive at 2:20 to help them.
2:35: The Halloween Parade Begins! Parents may stand on the black top area by the playground to watch the parade or in the gym if it is raining outside!
3:00-3:30: Halloween/October Birthday Party begins! After singing Happy Birthday to: Olivia Preisser, Ada Ma, Aliel Mitchell, and Camren Sims, Students will enjoy snacks (thank you parents and families!) and will have the option of watching "It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown" in Mrs. Talamonti-Burgee's room or participating in Halloween word puzzles, Mad Libs, and coloring pages in my room (thank you Mrs. Lathom for organizing the activities!).
